ALIXIR Cement Remover is designed to safely remove concrete and cement build-ups from a wide range of substrates without harming the underlying material. It is suitable for use on metals, plastics, rubber, glass, paintwork and most common construction surfaces.
Formulated using an organic compound derived from plant-based sources, the product is readily biodegradable and contains no components subject to workplace exposure limits. It can be applied neat for heavy residues or diluted with water for lighter cleaning tasks, offering flexibility and cost efficiency.
The formulation includes surfactants that assist with degreasing and leave a clean, bright finish. For stubborn build-ups, the product can be left to dwell for extended periods, including overnight, to achieve thorough residue removal.
How
it works
ALIXIR Cement Remover utilises a sophisticated organic acid alternative that targets the calcium carbonate bond within cement and mortar. Unlike traditional mineral acids, its plant-based chemistry breaks down the residue through a controlled reaction, while integrated surfactants simultaneously lift grease and grime. This dual-action process allows the product to dwell for extended periods—even overnight for stubborn build-ups—ensuring the thorough removal of residues without etching the substrate or corroding surrounding fixtures.
Application Instructions
Always perform a trial application on a small, hidden area first to confirm suitability and dwell time. ConClear can be used neat or diluted up to 1:2 with water. Shake the container for 30 seconds before use and pre-wet the area. Apply evenly with a low-pressure sprayer, leaving for a minimum of 45 minutes. Reapply if necessary, ensuring the surface does not dry out. Rinse thoroughly with water.

Effect on Painted Surfaces
The effect of ALIXIR Cement Residue Remover on paint has been assessed on a visual basis, using coated metal plates. The results displayed are averages of 3 tests at 23°C, maintained for 48hrs in an undisturbed solution. Use of ALIXIR Cement Residue Remover had no discernible, visual effect on the coatings tested.

Effect on Metallic Surfaces
ALIXIR Cement Residue Remover has been tested on the most common metal types including Mild Steel, Stainless Steel & Aluminium. In all cases minimal weight loss was observed in comparison to typical cement cleaning products such as
Hydrochloric Acid and Phosphoric Acid.
Coverage Rate
Figures are approximate and provided as a general guideline. Actual consumption is determined by the thickness of the cement residue and substrate porosity:
Heavy Build-up (Neat): Approximately 3–5m² per Litre
General Cleaning (1:2 Dilution): Approximately 10–15m² per Litre of diluted solution.
Equipment Cleaning
Clean tools and equipment immediately after use with water.
Storage & Shelf Life
Store in a dry place, away from frost and heat, in a temperature between 5°C and 30°C. Shelf life is 24 months from the production batch date when kept in the original unopened container.
Recommendations & Curing
Do not apply if rain is expected within 4 hours. It is essential to keep the product moist during the dwell period to maintain chemical activity; if the product dries prematurely, the cleaning action will cease. Do not apply during rain or frost, or when surface and air temperatures are below 5°C or above 30°C. While safe for most surfaces, always perform a trial on sensitive natural stone to confirm finish. Once clean and dry, treat with ALIXIR Stone Protector to inhibit future staining and mineral deposits.

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if feasible. Continue rinsing. Get medical attention.
